On April 1, 2008, RBS Sempra Commodities was formed as a joint venture between the Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS) and Sempra Energy. The newly-formed joint venture absorbed, and is expected to significantly expand, the operations of RBS Sempra Commodities.

United States
Our customers include energy and metals producers and consumers, pipelines, refineries, utilities, industrials, municipalities, and storage operators. Services and products include risk management (fixed-price hedging), asset management (generation management, power contracts and transmission and pipeline utilization) and creative structures such as "Share-the-Savings" programs. Our derivative products suite includes swaps, options, zero-cost collars and other more complex structures to provide customers with the desired risk protection.
With our physical and financial knowledge, we optimize both our own and our customer's transportation and storage assets. In offering cross-commodity transactions, we ensure that our customers receive the maximum value whether through daily trading or structuring financial transactions.
Canada
Our Canadian Team originates structured deals to monetize the unused assets of storage operators, transporters and industrial end-users. In a look toward the future, we are positioning ourselves to capitalize on the emerging power markets on a province-by-province basis.
Europe
With offices throughout Europe, we are well-situated to trade and market crude oil, natural gas and power products. Our European Team offers risk management and financial services to large producers, major industrial end-users, utilities and municipalities. We optimize the assets of our European customers and give them the all-important competitive edge.
