On April 1, 2008, RBS Sempra Commodities was formed as a joint venture between the Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS) and Sempra Energy. The newly-formed joint venture absorbed, and is expected to significantly expand, the operations of RBS Sempra Commodities.
